Fuity Tuesday!

Well, it's our third edition of Treat Tuesday and I know your all excited. Right? Today I thought I'd post something a little more healthy, I wouldn't want all my readers getting fat you know... So today I present to you my Mom's famous Fruit Salad. Honestly this stuff is too good to be called a fruit salad, and although it's not much to look at,  I promise you, you won't regret making it.

Fruit Salad
1 Can Mandarin Oranges, drained
1 Banana, sliced
1 Can Peaches, drained and sliced if they aren't already
1 Can Pineapple Chunks, drained
2 Red Apples, cubed (or cut up)
1 (4 serving size) Box of Instant Vanilla Pudding
1 Cup Milk
3/4 Cup Sour Cream
1/3 Cup Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate

Whisk pudding, milk, sour cream, and orange juice concentrate until smooth. Mix in fruit, chill, and eat up. Yummm!

This Past Weekend

So this past weekend I went to an event called Weekend In The Word with some friends and had a fantastic time! Before we were even done the eight hour drive to Foremost (I tiny little town in southern Alberta) I was regretting not bringing my camera. I did however still want to blog about my weekend, so I took a few pictures on my iPhone to share with you. Sorry for the poor quality, but like I said, they were taken with my iPhone.

I had never been that far south before (other than to go to Mexico, and THAT'S different) so I was surprised to see so much wide open prairie. I also was shocked to find out how windy it was, everyday we were there it seemed to turn into a bad hair day. But anyways, this picture is of the prairie, and it looked like this for several hours of our trip (I know, how boring?).

We drove down on Thursday and on Friday (Our first day there) they had their annual "Weekend in the Word Hockey Tournament". There was a Southern Alberta team, a Northern Alberta team, and a B.C. team. Now this was my first time at Weekend in the Word, but my friends informed me that Southern Alberta has won the past two years and our team (Northern Alberta) had never won yet.
The teams play 5 different games to determine the winner. In between games this Zamboni had to clean up the ice. I took this picture mainly so I could show my younger brothers, but I thought I'd add it into the post just for fun!
I'm not really a big fan of hockey, but it turns out my friends sure are! We all cheered really loud (I mostly did because I didn't have anything else to do) and got sore throats and scratchy voices.  One of my friends even went so far as to get her brothers trumpet out.... I guess it worked, because WE WON!

For Saturday and Sunday morning we spent the majority of our time in this hall. I was so amazed that such a small town like Foremost could have such a big, beautiful hall!
To  show you how beautiful it was I'm adding a picture of the beautiful dance floor that coordinated with the burnt orange panels (as seen in the picture of the hall).
Foremost is so close to the border that you can see the majestic mountains of Montana in the distance. I've never been to the states, so I thought it was so cool being that close! Anyways, after seeing this view, I think I'm going to have to add Montana to my "Must See" list.
When I got home I was delighted to see a package waiting for me on my bed!
It was the dress I had won from a giveaway on a blog. Sorry about the wrinkles, but this picture was taken at 12:30 AM after I had just been stuffed in a vehicle for eight hours and the dress had just come out of the package. The dress (from Shabby Apple)did however, fit me perfectly, so it was a great way to end a great weekend!

It's Tuesday!

Well, it's the second Treat Tuesday, and I know your all excited!  You are right? Well either way, here is your treat for the day. They are called Double Chocolate Chip Cookies. Sounds delicious and guess what? They are!

Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 3/4 Cup Flour
1/4 tsp. Baking Soda
1 Cup Butter (softened)
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 Cups Brown Sugar
1 Egg
1/3 Cup Cocoa
2 Tbsp. Milk
1 Cup Chocolate Chips

Combine flour and baking soda and set aside. Cream butter. Add vanilla and eggs and beat until fluffy. Beat in egg. At low speed beat in coca, then milk. Next slowly mix in the dry ingredients just until blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop onto non-stick cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 12-13 minutes. Remove from oven and cool slightly before removing from baking sheet. Makes about three dozen.

I think my favorite part about these cookies is that they are super chocolatey and moist!

Tuesday Just Got Better!

It's Tuesday. And that's all I have to say.

Doesn't that sound boring? Like Really? Well I'm here to change all that. For the next couple of weeks I will be posting delicious treats every Tuesday. So Tuesday won't be just boring old Tuesday anymore, it'll be Treat Tuesday, so without further ado, welcome to my first edition of Treat Tuesday!

Hot Milk Butter Cupcakes

2 Eggs
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1/8 tsp. Salt
1/2 Cup Milk
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Flour
4 Tbsp. Butter

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Sift all dry ingredients into a small mixing bowl and set aside. In a separate bowl beat eggs until thick and lemon colored. Slowly add sugar.  Fold in dry ingredients. Bring butter and milk to simmering point in a saucepan. Add to first mixture. Scoop into cupcake papers and bake for 15-18 minutes, or until done. This Recipe can also be used to make a cake. Just pour the batter into a greased pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until done.

Scrapbooking

Well this evening I was scrapbooking, so I wanted to share a few pictures of what I'm working on. In September of 2009 we took a bunch of family (and a few individual) pictures.

So here is my first two page spread.
The first page is very plain. I used an 8x10 picture and gave it a border.
I tore the border, giving it a not so bland look.
The next page is more exciting. For some reason the cranberry ribbon is looking kind of orange.
I used lots of embellishments to make the title look important. I don't know if you can tell, but I wrote the date in the little oval thing on the ribbon.

This is the next two page spread.
And for the life of me I could not get this picture to upload the right way. It's funny because this picture was taken the right way, and I rotated it on my computer the right way... oh well, you'll just have to exercise your neck. This page is very plain, just a big brown bow to make it special. I crammed lots of the random pictures on here. And again, the paper is more cranberry colored than it appears in this picture, I just need to figure out how my new camera works or something...
The next page is more interesting, partly because it features my adorable brothers, and partly because I put more stuff on it.

 The title.
I did much simpler embellishments on this one, just some ribbon and and paper corners.

Well I hope you've enjoyed reading. I wanted to note, that in case your wondering what kind of supplies I use, I use mostly stampin' up (mostly because that's what we have. My mother sold it for several years, so we have quite a stash) but I also pick up a few things here or there from Wal-Mart or the local scrapbook store.
