My New Camera!

I don't know if you could tell on my last post, but I just bought a new camera! It's a Nikon D5100, and as far as I can tell so far, it's wonderful! I haven't really figured it all out so far, so bear with me. Hopefully you all can enjoy the nicer, clearer, crisper pictures from now on!

Red Velvet Cupcakes

So yesterday I got together with my friend Jacy and we made adorable red velvet cupcakes. Here is the recipe.
We mixed the pretty pink dough.
Then we put it in the muffin tin.
And of course, we baked them!
They came out of the oven...
cooled...
And were decorated!

Oh, and I forgot to mention, they were super delicious. I really liked the icing that's included in the recipe. Definitely a good one!

Beautiful Valentines Nails

Aren't these heart nails adorable? I think I may have to give myself a manicure today. You can go here to see how it's done.

Valentines!

Happy Valentines Day everybody!
We aren't really doing much for valentines this year,  but late last night I got a really bad craving for chocolate cake, so I made some. Here it is:

Hot Fudge Pudding Cake

1 1/4 Cups Flour
3/4 Cup Sugar
2 Tbs. Cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 Cup Milk
2 Tbs. Butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 Cup Sugar
2 Tbs. Cocoa
Dash of Salt
1 1/3 Cup Water, heated to 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit

Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a small bowl combine flour, 3/4 cup sugar, 2 tbs. cocoa, baking powder and 1/2 tsp. salt. Stir in milk, butter and vanilla; blend well. Spread batter into ungreased  9-inch round or square pan.

In a small bowl, combine 1 cup sugar, 2 tbs. cocoa, and dash of salt; mix well. Sprinkle evenly over cake batter. Pour hot water over sugar mixture. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until center is set and firm to touch. Serve Warm.

My First Haul

Well today I'm going to do my very first haul. I love thrifting and I have often seen hauls on other blogs so thought I would do one of my own.  In town we have a really great thrift store called "The Repeat Boutique" now the really cool thing is, is that it's run by volunteers for charity. All the money that they make goes to buy equipment for hospitals. So, let's take a look at some of my awesome finds!

Item #1
Now here in Alberta we don't usually get to where capris until usually late in may or June, but they had just gotten out the summer clothes and I couldn't help myself. I'll put them away and have them ready for me in spring.
As you can see, they come from Warehouse One. Now I don't know about you, but I haven't been able to find jeans at Warehouse One cheaper than $35 , and I bought these, like new, for $2.

Item #2
Yup yup! another pair of capris. I like these because they have a nice stretchy jean waistband, so they are really comfy.
They also have nice pockets!
These new (yes, they still had the tags on them) Contrast capris would be at least $30 and again, I got them for $2

Item #3
I love this shirt!
Especially the pleats around the neckline.
This shirt is about $35 new, and I got it for, yes, that's right, $2!

Item #4
I love the shiny silver color of this sweater! It's a bit annoying to wash, but it's well worth the effort.
I don't know what this would cost normally, but I got it for $2, so I'm happy!

Item #5
This bracelet is that same beautiful silvery color.
Isn't it beautiful? And I got it for only .50 cents!

Item #6
I really like this bracelet. I usually have a hard time fitting bracelets because of my bigger wrist (big bones run in my family), but this one is made out of memory wire, so it just winds around my wrist easily.

Well, I hope you've liked reading this, and that I didn't bore you to death. And I hope that if nothing else I've inspired you to check out your local thrift store!
